Media Solutions Hong Kong/Singapore, 9 July 2001 - Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and Business to Business Broadcasting Pte. Ltd. (B2Bcast), the creator of high quality end-to-end webcast solutions, announced today that they have entered into a strategic relationship and selected each other as preferred service providers in the key Asian markets of Hong Kong, Singapore, and mainland China. The arrangement provides Ogilvy PR the ability to readily offer its clients a powerful new tool for communicating with both internal and external audiences. Webcasting is increasingly favored by global concerns, high-tech firms and traditional brick-and-mortar businesses alike. "We see B2Bcast providing a key technology to help our clients step up their ability to reach out to investors, the media, and other interested parties much more effectively and directly," said Matthew Anderson, Ogilvy PR President, Asia Pacific. "With our new relationship with B2Bcast, we can more easily deliver the webcasting option to our clients, who recognize that more and more people are relying on the Internet for delivering and receiving critical business information." Streaming technology, which allows the transmission of data in a continuous flow without downloading, is increasingly used for a range of corporate communications needs, including investor relations, in-house education and training, internal communication and webcasting live speeches and events. Webcasts can also be easily translated into multiple languages for international distribution, enabling companies to more effectively communicate with their target audiences. Alex Feldman, B2Bcast's President & CEO said, "Webcasting plays an increasingly important role in corporate communications today. Streaming business applications boost corporate sales efforts and provide savings on communications & travel costs. This relationship with Ogilvy PR, will enable B2Bcast to offer Ogilvy PR's clients streaming solutions that combine the power of TV and radio broadcasts with the reach of the Internet." Corporate webcasting is attracting a growing audience of investors. At times, these events have attracted a larger audience than big-league sports. Last month, some 34,000 people reportedly watched a webcast of Cisco Systems Inc.'s quarterly earnings announcements. By comparison, on a typical game day this year, an average of 28,000 to 30,000 attendees came out to watch the Chicago Cubs play at their home stadium. Indeed, as investors become more savvy and more attentive toward their
stock holdings, webcasts will offer an increasingly important way for
investors to stay in touch with the views of corporate management. In
addition, businesses and conference groups will find webcasting a more
cost-effective way of reaching larger audiences, who can tune in to watch
at their convenience anywhere there is an internet connection. About B2Bcast For further information, call Matthew Anderson, President, Asia-Pacific,
